Melbourne, 08-July-2007@[Buurhakaba Media]  In Melbourne, Australia- Somali Ethnic Communities Council and united Somali organisations are commemorated a festival of Somali National Day which will take place on Saturday, 7^th July 2007 at Preston Town Hall.

And commemorates the anniversary of the independence of the three former Somali colonies  French Djibouti, British Somaliland, and Italian Somalia.

The creation of the independent state of Somalia from the British and Italian colonies, on July 1, 1960, thus ending nearly a century of colonial occupation.  Somali National Week begins with Somali Independence Day, which is celebrated on June 26th, and ends with Foundation of the Republic Day on July 1st.
